The Humanitarian Centre advertises current volunteering opportunities for international development projects in Cambridge and overseas. If you would like to register your interest in volunteering and be notified of new opportunities, please sign up to our volunteering newsletter here.

If you would like to advertise a volunteering opportunity, either in Cambridge or overseas, please email .

If you are an organisation sending volunteers overseas, you may find the Guidelines for sending volunteers on overseas placements (PDF) useful, produced with the kind support of the University of Cambridge Societies Syndicate.

“Entering the international development sector can be extremely difficult for young professionals. The Humanitarian Centre helps pave the way for Cambridge students by providing an inspiring platform for gaining valuable volunteer experience and networking with professionals in the field.” – Amanda Norman, Career Advisor at the University of Cambridge.

Careers Support

If you are interested in a career in international development, the Humanitarian Centre offers a number of  resources and events to get you started.

You can also find information and advice about ethical careers on the Cambridge Hub website: http://cambridgehub.org

For professional advice on careers in international development, we suggest that Cambridge University students and alumni should contact the CU Careers Service, and students and graduates of Anglia Ruskin University should contact the ARU Careers Service.

In due course we will have a list of sources of internships offered by UK-based NGOs.
