Volunteering to help at a Humanitarian Centre event is the perfect way to get a feel for what we do, meet members of the network, and experience working as part of a small, fast-paced team.
We run a range of about 8-10 events and engagement opportunities throughout the year and there are a number of ways to help out. You can volunteer for anywhere from 2 – 8 hours, depending on the length of the event and your availability. No previous experience is necessary and roles are assigned on the day. In particular, we need your help to (e.g):
- Set up before the event (prepare name tags, attendees lists, displays, venue layout, equipment)
- Register and steward attendees
- Provide technology support (e.g. A/V, conference calling)
- Serve refreshments
- Document the event (photographers, journalists, real-time social media updating, note-taking)
- Tidy up after the event
