Afrinspire field visit to Uganda, summer 2011

If you would like to see a variety of indigenous grass roots development projects in Africa, then this field visit to Uganda to see the work of Afrinspire partners is for you.    You would gain first-hand experience of the rural African context, and some understanding of the issues of poverty and how indigenous initiatives such as women’s adult literacy, self-help groups, water harvesting and technology transfer are catalysts to development.  You will be in contact with expert development practitioners.  This visit is ideal for those with an interest in international development who want exposure to the African situation.

Dates: Approximately June/July 2011 very soon after the end of summer term, for two and a half to three weeks but this is flexible and will be fixed when the group is formed.

Cost:  Approximately £1,400, but more details available on request.

If interested please email Ian Sanderson on to obtain an expression of interest form.

A decision on the exact dates, the programme and the participants will be made in January.
